Zineb Mouline

Profile
Zineb completed her master degree in chemistry and biology at the
University Pierre and Marie Curie in Paris in 2010. Then in 2013, she
graduated with a Ph.D. in Chemistry and materials science at ENSCM under
the supervision of Dr Mihai Barboiu and Dr Damien Quemener, at the European
Membrane Institute of Montpellier in France. As soon as she defended her
PhD thesis, she joined Nagoya Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral
fellow in the Chemical process laboratory, under the supervision of Pr Yuji
Iwamoto, and was later assigned as assistant professor in the same group.
During her research work at NiTech, she was able to successfully put into
practice her organic chemistry background, to develop hybrid microporous
ceramic membranes for gas separation, particularly CO2.

Consequently, both her education and research experience have allowed her
to gain a broad understanding of recent methodologies in organic and
inorganic membrane science, and gave her the skills in tackling CO2
separation challenges from both angles. As a result of her commitment to
the environmental issues and the promotion of sustainable development, she
had the opportunity to be part of several United Nations conferences such
as COP21 in Paris and the Third UN conference for Disaster Risk Reduction
that was help in Sendai Tohoku, as member of the Science and Technology
Major Group of the International Council for Science (ICSU). She also
received several awards from Morocco, her home country, and recently joined
the Board of CorpsAfrica Morocco, a nonprofit organisation that helps
empowering local communities.
